Lenten Service at our Church
We are delighted to announce that St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Schererville will host the annual Lenten service for the Southern Chicago Deanery of our Serbian Orthodox New Gracanica Midwestern Diocese on Friday, April 26, 2024.
The service will commence with the Presanctified Divine Liturgy at 6:00 PM, led by the esteemed V. Rev. Aleksandar Novakovic, who will deliver a sermon. After the service, we will serve the lenten dinner at the Halls of St. George.
We warmly invite all members of our community to this significant Lenten service. As we prepare for Holy Week and the joyous celebration of our Lord’s Resurrection, participating in Presanctified Divine Liturgies holds great spiritual significance. These liturgies allow us to partake of Holy Communion more frequently during the Lenten season, enriching our spiritual journey.
At St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, everyone is welcome to experience the beauty and reverence of our Lenten traditions. Let us come together in prayer and fellowship as we prepare our hearts for the holiest time of the year.
We look forward to welcoming you on April 26 as we unite in faith and devotion during this sacred season.
