Kumovi Sunday Celebrated at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church

On Sunday, March 23, 2025, the faithful of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Schererville, Indiana, gathered to celebrate Kumovi Sunday. This cherished tradition honors the sacred bond between godparents and godchildren.

The day began with a special Divine Liturgy, where kumovi stood together in prayer, reaffirming their spiritual commitment to one another. The church was filled with a sense of unity as families and friends gathered to strengthen these lifelong relationships in faith.

Following the service, attendees enjoyed a communal Lenten meal at the Halls of St. George, where fellowship and tradition were central to the gathering. The meal provided a significant opportunity for families to connect, share stories, and reflect on the importance of Orthodox Christian mentorship.
