Sunday of Orthodoxy: A Day of Faith, Tradition, and Fellowship

This past Sunday, our parish gathered to celebrate the Sunday of Orthodoxy, honoring the triumph of the true faith and the restoration of the holy icons. During the Divine Liturgy, the church resonated with the beautiful voices of the choir members and the faithful. Many parishioners received the Holy Sacraments, strengthening their bond with Christ and His Church.

A highlight of the morning was the procession of icons led by our Church School children. With both reverence and joy, they carried their icons through the church, proclaiming the triumph of Orthodoxy just as the faithful did centuries ago. Witnessing the children’s enthusiastic participation in this sacred tradition was truly inspiring and served as a reminder that our faith is being passed down to the next generation.

After the service, our parish family continued the celebration at the Halls of St. George, where we enjoyed a delightful Lenten luncheon generously sponsored by the Bishop Lastavica Choir. The fellowship shared over the meal reflected the unity and love that define our community, as parishioners gathered to strengthen friendships and rejoice in the day’s blessings.

We thank God for this meaningful celebration and for everyone who participated, making this Sunday of Orthodoxy a truly memorable and spiritually uplifting occasion. May we continue to grow in faith and love as we journey through the Lenten season together!
