St. George Church School Year Officially Kicks Off!

On Sunday, September 14, our parish family gathered to kick off the St. George Church School program. The day began with the Divine Liturgy, followed by the Invocation of the Holy Spirit prayer service, which asked God’s blessing on our teachers, parents, and children as they started a new year of learning and growth in the Orthodox faith. Afterwards, everyone enjoyed fellowship and a lunch at the Old Hall Pavilion, celebrating the joyful start of the year together.

Our Church School educates students from Pre-K through 12th grade, with classes every Sunday after Holy Communion. This year’s program includes:

  • Religion Classes – designed to nurture faith, prayer, and knowledge of the Orthodox Church.
  • Serbian Language Classes – preserving our heritage and strengthening cultural identity.
  • Junior Choir Practices – held every other week, providing children the chance to learn and sing within the beauty of Orthodox worship.

Families are encouraged to enroll their children in the Children’s Orchestra, led by Jelena Marković. To sign up, contact her directly at 708-712-7246.

If you haven’t signed up your children for Church School yet, please call the parish office at 219-322-3355.

The Church School is central to parish life, helping our children grow in faith, language, and love for their Church. We thank our dedicated teachers and volunteers and look forward to a blessed and productive year ahead!
