St. Sava Celebration at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church – January 25, 2026

On Sunday, January 25, 2026, St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Schererville, Indiana, joyfully celebrated the Feast of St. Sava, the first Archbishop and Enlightener of the Serbian people. The celebration started with the Divine Liturgy, followed by a special program honoring St. Sava’s life, faith, and legacy. Kumovi for this year’s Slava were high school seniors Jovan Kolar and Kristina Dodig.

Our children participated with love and enthusiasm, offering prayers, recitations, and songs dedicated to St. Sava, reminding us of the importance of faith, education, and unity.

Following the service, the parish gathered in fellowship at the Halls of St. George to continue the celebration in a warm and festive spirit. We are grateful to our teachers, parents, and this year’s kumovi for their dedication and support, and to everyone who helped make this celebration a beautiful display of our Orthodox faith and Serbian heritage. May the prayers of St. Sava guide and bless our parish for many years to come.
